This 3DEXPERIENCE CATIA Kinematics learning path provides you with a guided and systematic approach to learn about the Mechanical Motion Designer role. You will learn and practice the functionalities related to the assembly design, mechanisms, kinematics scenarios and static study analysis.
What to Expect?
Learning Objectives
- Create a new mechanism
- Manage the mechanism behaviour
- Include alternative representations to complete the mechanism
- Create a new macro mechanism from existing sub-mechanisms
- Animate the mechanism
- Create a scenario manually or by using laws
- Include measurement and interference analyses
- Generate results
- Create snapshots for a review
- Export the final simulation

3DEXPERIENCE CATIA Kinematics Agenda
The following lessons are included in the course
CATIA Mechanical Systems Design
Lesson 1: Creating a Mechanism
- In this lesson, you will learn how to create the design of a mechanism using controlled constraints.
- You will also learn how to animate the mechanism.
Lesson 2: Modifying a Mechanism
- In this lesson, you will learn how to modify a mechanism by including/excluding the created joints.
Lesson 3: Completing a Macro Mechanism
- In this lesson, you will learn how to create a Macro Mechanism consisting of several different mechanisms.
Lesson 4: Master Exercise
- In this lesson, you will learn how to create a mechanism for the motorbike suspensions and shock absorber.
- You will also create the macro mechanism for the motorbike.
CATIA Mechanical Systems Experience
Lesson 5: Creating Alternative Behaviours
- In this lesson, you will learn how to record and edit a kinematic scenario manually and automatically through law excitations and design tables.
- You will also see how to create dynamic scenarios.
Lesson 6: Creating Analysis and Modifying Behaviours
- In this lesson, you will learn how to display measurements by tracking distances, angles, speeds and accelerations.
- You will also see how to detect clashes between two products with the interference probe tool.
- Finally, you will learn how to create and modify sections using the section probe tool.
Lesson 7: Generating Outputs and Results
- In this lesson, you will learn how to preview, generate and export the results of a simulation.
- In addition to that, you will learn how to generate traces and swept volumes and visualize results of a simulation.
Training Methods
Choose from three different training methods available to you

Group / Classroom Training
Receive 3DEXPERIENCE CATIA Kinematics training in a group in a traditional classroom environment. Courses can be taken in one of our training locations in the UK, Ireland, US or Canada using DS approved training content and methodologies.
Advantages
- Cost effective training method.
- Leave the office to concentrate on learning.
- Learn more through group questions and feedback.

Live Online Training
With online training you will experience an interactive learning environment where you can give feedback, gain access to the training files and get time to work on training exercises.
Advantages
- Online courses can maximise convenience and save on travel expenses.
- More effective than video based training, with recorded videos learners are often not as focused on the training and skip exercises.

On-Site Training
Receive training at your place of work. This style of flexible training is perfect for teams or individuals who are faced with a specific challenge and require personalized courses with on-the-job coaching.
Advantages
- Use our state-of-the-art mobile classroom at your facility.
- Bring your team up to a consistent level of knowledge by having them take the same training at the same time.
- Benefit from flexible scheduling options.
Upcoming Courses
If you do not see a suitable training course scheduled below please contact us. Our training team are happy to discuss your requirements and can schedule additional courses or arrange onsite or bespoke training to suit your needs.
