This 3DEXPERIENCE CATIA 3D Functional Tolerancing & Annotation training course will teach you how to annotate a 3D part. You will cover how to create annotation planes and how to add and manage 3D annotations on these planes.
You will also learn how to create 3D views and use them to create 2D drawing views. You will also be able to create annotations on assemblies.
What to Expect?
Learning Objectives
- Add 3D annotations to a part
- Manage and position annotations
- Create and manage annotation planes and views
- Manage the 3D geometry associated to the 3D annotations
- Create 3D views in the Part and how to use them to create 2D views in a Drawing

3DEXPERIENCE CATIA 3D Functional Tolerancing & Annotation Agenda
The following lessons are included in the course
Lesson 1: Introduction to 3D Tolerancing and Annotation
- This lesson introduces the 3D Tolerancing and Annotation app which allows to specify 3D tolerance specifications and annotations directly on 3D shapes.
Lesson 2: Managing Views and Captures
- In this lesson, you will learn how to create planes and 2D annotation views.
- You will also learn how to capture and filter annotations.
Lesson 3: Creating Datums and Tolerancing Annotations
- This lesson describes how to create datum and specified datum reference.
- It also elaborates the Tolerancing Advisor to annotate multiple holes at once.
Lesson 4: Creating Non-Semantic Annotations and Framed Dimensions
- In this lesson, we will learn how to create non-semantic annotations and framed dimensions using the Automatic Creation method.
Lesson 5: Creating Construction Geometry and Annotations
- This lesson describes how to create construction geometry, manage geometry connections and create annotations in the context of an assembly.
Training Methods
Choose from three different training methods available to you

Group / Classroom Training
Receive 3DEXPERIENCE CATIA 3D Functional Tolerancing & Annotation training in a group in a traditional classroom environment. Courses can be taken in one of our training locations in the UK, Ireland, US or Canada using DS approved training content and methodologies.
Advantages
- Cost effective training method.
- Leave the office to concentrate on learning.
- Learn more through group questions and feedback.

Live Online Training
With online training you will experience an interactive learning environment where you can give feedback, gain access to the training files and get time to work on training exercises.
Advantages
- Online courses can maximise convenience and save on travel expenses.
- More effective than video based training, with recorded videos learners are often not as focused on the training and skip exercises.

On-Site Training
Receive training at your place of work. This style of flexible training is perfect for teams or individuals who are faced with a specific challenge and require personalized courses with on-the-job coaching.
