DELMIA 3DEXPERIENCE Surface Robot Programmer (RSG) provides a 3D interactive environment for the creation and simulation of robotic surface processes—painting, polishing, sanding, media blasting and shot peening. Surface Robot Programmer simulates the surface’s exposure to these robot processes, providing a visual feedback to the user in 3D.
In the integrated 3DEXPERIENCE® environment, robot programmers use product and tooling geometry to validate robotic workcells and advanced robot processes in the immersive context of the 3D environment.
RSG makes it easy to define surface trajectories directly from product geometry, using parameters that include approach, departure and spacing to find the most optimum strategy for a given process. Spray gun and media blasting-specific attributes such as nozzle shapes and pressure are customized to the process. Support for electrostatic paint applications are also included in this comprehensive solution.
Robot programmers can position resources, create robot trajectories, simulate the robot process and create a complete workcell sequence. They can define, validate, and optimize surface processes and setups ahead of delivery to the shop floor. Once the robot process is validated, RSG provides tools to download the program to the production robot.
Surface Robot Programmer Benefits
Early discovery and resolution of design for manufacturing (DFM) issues
Perform robot task feasibility studies early in the planning and detailing stages, reducing the cost of re-work generated by product and tooling changes.
Improved collaboration between simulation engineers and product or tool designers
Based on the 3DEXPERIENCE® platform, RSG supports collaboration throughout the extended enterprise. Powerful lifecycle and change management capabilities streamline the business process and improve the overall quality of work.
Accurate surface-based programming
Use the surface representation of the 3D model to create robot trajectories. This gives the user an accurate path that follows the contour of the surface. The user can input the number of passes, the direction, and the overlap. This surface-based robot trajectory is ideal for multiple robot applications such as painting, spray sealant, and others.
Graphic representation of material deposition
Model the spray nozzle and pressure parameters of the spray gun. As the robot moves the gun across the surface, RSG graphically represents the thickness of the material deposited on the surface using different colors or on a graph. The granularity of each representation is determined by the user. This allows the user to produce highly accurate robot programs and reduces wasted materials.
Robot Line Tracking
When products are on moving conveyance systems, the robot needs to be able to track that motion in order to provide a quality finish. Automotive paint lines, for example, almost exclusively use moving conveyance systems. Robot line tracking ensures that the robot trajectory is followed with a high degree of accuracy, no matter where the conveyor is moving or how fast.
Creation, simulation and validation of robot tasks in the manufacturing context
Create and validate robot tasks in a variety of manufacturing contexts. By performing multiple what-if scenarios, the result is the best possible performance of the workcell under any condition or configuration.
Fast, simple workcell layout
Choose from an extensive library of robot and controller models from all major industrial robot manufacturers. Auto placement and workspace envelope tools help users position the robot in a reachable position and benefit from early feasibility studies.
Import, export, and customization of programs using VB.Net
Uses VB.Net for robot program translation. Customers and third-party vendors can import or export robot native-language programs and easily adapt translators to custom requirements. They can create programs offline without affecting production and revenue. RSG provides translators for Fanuc RJ/TPE; Motoman/Yaskawa; Nachi; Kawasaki; Panasonic; Daihen; ABB RAPID S4C/S4C+; C5; Kuka, Durr, Denso, Staubli, Universal, Mitsubishi, and Kobelco.
