The DELMIA 3DEXPERIENCE NC Template Designer (NPX) Role provides a 3D interactive environment that enables NC Programmers to generate feature based Smart machining templates that can be reused.
NPX lets users define machining operations on specific features on a given part with all details including tool paths, cutting tools, macros etc which can then be stored as a template for reuse. These template are saved as manufacturing cells in the platform. They can be revised and lifecycle controlled based on any changes that may be required. Machining templates defined with NPX are not restricted to standard CAD features. Users can define any machinable geometry on a given part and identify that feature as a template. For instance, power features coming from engineering can be templatized for machining. This helps improve quality of the machined part, mitigate user errors, and shorten the time required to program a quality part.

This simplifies the user experience where the programmer need not go searching for functions, rather it is all contained in the template to quickly reuse. It also takes into account the variation in features and yet recognizes those variations and applies the templates intelligently.
The customizable user interface is very simple for creating a template and also very visual for reusing the template. The features recognized are presented on an interactive panel and also highlighted on the part for easy correlation.
Save time and energy by archiving best practices for reuse
Programmers can retrieve previously produced templates. They can run a similar-feature search to find existing feature and apply templates for automatic creation of operations saving significant time. This also helps non-NC experts to apply the template. Can be a good training tool for new programmers learning how to create produce a process using template.
