CATIA Dymola Licensing Options

CATIA Dymola Licensing Options

In this blog, we will explore the advantages and disadvantages of both the Cloud and Local-Install CATIA Dymola Licensing options to help you make an informed decision that best suits your needs.

As a behaviour modelling software, CATIA Dymola has become an essential tool for many businesses, but choosing the right licensing option can be challenging. In this blog, we will explore the advantages and disadvantages of both the Cloud and Local-Install CATIA Dymola Licensing options to help you make an informed decision that best suits your needs.

Whether you prioritize collaboration or local control, this blog will provide you with the information you need to make the right choice. So, let’s dive in and see what each option has to offer!

What is CATIA Dymola?

CATIA Dymola is a modelling and simulation software tool that is widely used in the field of engineering. It allows the user to create models of complex systems and simulate their behaviour under a variety of conditions. Dymola offers a wide range of modelling capabilities, including the ability to model mechanical, electrical, thermal, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

CATIA Dymola Licensing Options: Cloud vs Local-Install Solution

If you are looking to use CATIA Dymola for behaviour modelling, you have two options to choose from: Cloud and Local-Install. Both options have their advantages and disadvantages, and it is important to know which one works best for you and your business.

The Cloud solution is directly connected to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, which means that models are stored in Collaborative Spaces where they can be accessed and worked on by multiple team members at the same time. It can also connect to other 3DEXPERIENCE apps, such as the Functional & Logical Design App, for integration with CATIA, electrical logic, and other apps. Moreover, it can uniquely support the kinematic generation of CATIA assemblies from mechanisms. However, it may not support some custom libraries and may not run as efficiently as the Local-Install solution for larger models.

On the other hand, the Local-Install solution offers local file management, which means that models are saved as .mo files and can be broken down into sub-files more readily. It supports all standard commercial libraries and has all existing libraries created for the stand-alone app. It can run more efficiently for larger models since time is not spent communicating with the 3DEXPERIENCE server to obtain files. However, it does not support kinematic CATIA generation.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the choice between Cloud and Local-Install solutions for CATIA Dymola licensing ultimately depends on your specific needs and preferences. While Cloud offers a more collaborative and integrated solution, Local-Install offers more local control and convenience. Consider your priorities and choose the option that fits your business best.
