The ENOVIA 3DEXPERIENCE Materials Compliance Analyst (MCY) Role enables managers and design engineers to view materials compliance. It plays a key role in an overall materials compliancy business process by allowing managers and other reviewers to oversee the progress of materials compliance reporting.
Managers can assess the state of compliance reporting for specific BOMs or suppliers and take action if the reporting progress is inadequate.
Materials Compliance Analysis is targeted for managers, quality engineers, purchasing buyers, program managers, executives, and auditors who serve the role of “compliance reviewer,” and product design engineers that need to create environmentally friendly products. Such users can search and view enterprise parts, manufacturer equivalent parts (MEPs), and suppliers to understand compliance reporting status and calculated compliance status; and to run selected reports.
During product design, Materials Compliance Analysis exposes compliance information directly in the Product Design Engineer application, as well as enables reports to compare the compliance of manufacturing equivalents, list recyclable content, or evaluate best and worst-case manufacturing location scenarios. This provides critical information to design engineers making design decisions to meet customer and/or market requirements for new products.
Materials Compliance Analyst Benefits
Improve Management Oversight
Allows managers and other reviewers to oversee the progress of materials compliance reporting. Managers can assess the state of compliance reporting for specific BOMs or suppliers and take action if the reporting progress is inadequate.
Gain Insights With Compliance and Recycling Reports
Managers and other reviewers can run detailed reports to assess the compliancy or recycling status of products. For recycling, reports including the RRR, Battery, and WEEE content are available. This allows managers and reviewers to gain insight into problems related to compliance or recycling.
Ensure Conformance with Conflict Mineral Requirements
Conflict mineral declarations can be viewed by reviewers to determine the status of supplier reporting and compliance to the conflict mineral regulation. Smelter information can also be viewed to determine for example if specific smelters conform to conflict mineral requirements.
Design Decisions based on Compliance
Designers can see the compliance of parts and use this information to select the components to use in products to insure they are compliant to specific regulations. Designer can also use compliance information associated with manufacturing equivalent parts to determine what suppliers to use for components.
Enable/Disable Parts for Compliance
Designers can assess which parts in a BOM are not applicable to materials compliance regulations and disable the part for compliance. This can be used for example to exclude parts in the BOM like machining parts that are not present in the final product and not subject to materials compliance regulations.
