With the DELMIA 3DEXPERIENCE Time Study Expert (TSX) Role the industrial engineer has a powerful application to analyze the very details of operations assigned to workplaces using state-of-the-art industry standards to accurately compute operation times.
The time analysis allows the optimization of existing and designing of new workplaces for production efficiency. At the same time, it can help to maintain the workers’ health and reduce fatigue. TSX uses scientific methods such as ones provided by the MTM (Methods-Time Measurement) Association (e.g. MTM-UAS, MTM-1) or MOST (Maynard Operation Sequence Technique) to overcome traditional stopwatch-based techniques. To keep existing IP, TSX also includes existing (best-practice) data that has been developed by the customer. Last but not least, thanks to the full integration within the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, the time studies performed by TSX along with equipment allocation and line balancing can be used in Process Engineer (PPL).
TSX also provides authoring capabilities for process plans (workplan, system, operations) which link to the manufacturing items structure (MBOM) and balance operations. Additionally, users can view the virtual build in the process plan to inspect the effects of analyzed durations and the balanced operations on the build-up, especially when operation sequences are changing.
